Snow in south Louisiana is certainly not as rare (incredible is a better word) as the Saints winning the Super Bowl, but flakes falling cause the region great excitement. An inch or two of snow closes schools, government offices and some businesses—a response that probably seems hilarious to people living in the northeast and other snow bound parts of the country.

Having gone through the New England blizzard of ‘78—that’s 1978, not 1878—I should be laughing about the reaction of my Louisiana neighbors. Instead, I will follow their lead. No substantive post today. I’m snowbound.
